WHERE ARE WE GOING NEXT?
“You’ve always had the power to go back home.”
–Glinda, The Good Witch of the North
There’s No Place Like Home Retreat at Harmony Hill Union, WA
July 28-30, 2023

Somewhere Over the Rainbow…we will meet you there!
In the film The Wizard of Oz, the good witch Glinda tells Dorothy that she had the power to go home all along. It was within her all the time, but she wouldn’t have believed it until she found it out for herself.
Dorothy: Oh, will you help me? Can you help me?
Glinda: You don’t need to be helped any longer. You’ve always had the power to go back to Kansas. (Or in my case, the PNW!)
Dorothy: I have?
Scarecrow: Then why didn’t you tell her before?
Glinda: Because she wouldn’t have believed me, she had to learn it for herself!
Recently, while attending a Restorative Workshop at Three Trees Yoga, I had a powerful insight just like Dorothy.
It suddenly occurred to me that “I had always had the power to come home to the PNW!” I could spend more quality time with my friends and community if I once again hosted a retreat at Harmony Hill!
I contacted Sandi Koch and asked if she wanted to host another retreat with me at Harmony Hill. We had offered them together in the past and had planned to make them an annual event. Initially our plans were interrupted due to COVID. Then Sandi and Al bought an RV and drove off to a new life on wheels exploring the west coast and the southwest. Rocky and I moved to northern Spain.
In answer to my question, Sandi clicked her ruby sandals together and said, “Yes! Yes! Yes! There’s No Place Like Home!”

Harmony Hill: An Inviting Place To Come Home.
Sandi and I invite you to join us as we unwind, stretch, breathe, hike the trails around the property, eat delicious food, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company.
Strengthen your connection to each other, as well as to your own body, as we lean into the tools of Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama (Breath Practice), Restorative Thai Yoga, Mantra, Labyrinth walks, and shared meals.
Even taking a siesta, a custom I have enthusiastically embraced in Spain, will be encouraged!
David Whyte, one of my favorite poets and philosophers says:
“To feel as if you belong is one of the great triumphs of human existence — and especially to sustain a life of belonging and to invite others into that…
we are the one part of creation that knows what it’s like to live in exile, and that the ability to turn your face towards home is one of the great human endeavors and the great human stories.…
the moment you’ve uttered the exact dimensionality of your exile, you’re already taking the path back to the way, back to the place you should be. You’re already on your way home.”
