“There is something about safari life that makes you forget all your sorrows and feel as if you had drunk half a bottle of champagne.”

Sensational South Africa

September 24-October 1, 2025

The Grandest of Land Animals

This exclusive adventure features 4 nights in Cape Town and 3 nights on safari in Sabi Sand Nature Reserve/Kruger National Park. This trip is limited to 10 guests.

In Cape Town our retreat begins at the luxurious More Quarters Hotel. Table Mountain is the backdrop to this vibey Kloof Street neighborhood getaway, and Cape Town’s best attractions are just a short walk or drive away.

During our stay in Cape Town, enjoy a full day tour of Cape Point with some of the most breathtaking ocean and mountain scenery in the world. Visit another natural wonder: the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach.  With any luck, we may even see massive whales moving past Cape Point on their annual migration.

All Dressed Up Awaiting Your Arrival

Then it’s off to the scenic Cape Winelands, sampling some of the country’s finest vintages on this exclusive, tailor-made full-day tour. We’ll visit world-class wine estates that date back to the 17th century, observe original Cape Dutch homesteads, and enjoy the dramatic mountain and vineyard landscapes.

After fully exploring Cape Town’s incredible sights, on day five, we will fly from Cape Town to Skukuza airport where we will be driven to Lion Sands River Lodge, on the Sabi Sand side of the reserve. Lion Sands River Lodge offers luxurious accommodations in a traditional safari lodge setting.

Luxurious Lion Sands River Lodge Safari Accomodations

Lion Sands is the only private sanctuary with a footprint in both Sabi Sand Nature Reserve and the Kruger National Park.  It is home to an unparalleled number and diversity of species, most of which are non-migratory, so we are guaranteed an exceptional safari experience during our stay.

While staying at Lion Sands, we’ll enjoy two daily game drives with snacks and refreshments, bush walks, stargazing, wildlife lectures, outdoor dining experiences and of course, yoga.

The Sensational South Africa Retreat was designed as a feast for all of our senses. This journey promises life-changing moments that will, no doubt, leave us with unforgettable memories of extraordinary beauty and discovery.

In keeping with our mission of responsible and sustainable travel, Jeni’s Global Yoga Trips has partnered with Go2Africa, a local Africa-based travel company, to curate this custom trip for you. Their team of experts are all born and raised in Africa. With 26 years of experience, Go2Africa has not only helped us create a top-quality trip, but they have also ensured that all retreat dollars will stay in Africa and will support local communities and conservation projects. The impact of your visit will deliver a long-term positive effect long after you return home.

Optional Overnight in Tree House

As an optional upgrade, we each have the opportunity to spend one night in a tree
house while on safari. This is nothing like your childhood tree house! The tree house features a beautiful room perched on a secure platform high off the ground and includes a comfortable bed, and an en suite bathroom with shower and vanity.

A night out in Africa calls for al fresco dining, lit by lanterns and stars. In your Treehouse, you’ll find a basket packed with a gourmet tapas-style picnic and a cooler box of chilled drinks. From this vantage point, you will enjoy unbelievable stargazing and nocturnal animal watching.

Even though you and your roommate will be alone, this experience is completely safe. You will have radio access to the main lodge at all times. You only need to pack an overnight bag to take this one-night adventure. You can leave your suitcase and other belongings in your room at the Lion Sands hotel.

Please note: The Treehouse experience is currently limited to double occupancy. If one of our guests opts out of this overnight stay, you may have an opportunity to stay solo. We will update you when we get closer to the retreat date.
